Carlos Richetti and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout to help the Rimini Pirates take down T&A San Marino, 6-0, on Saturday to sweep a two-game Italian Baseball League showdown.

Richetti (1-0) struck out four and scattered three hits and no walks over five sparkling frames to earn his first win of the young season. The 33-year-old Dominican right-hander was shelled for three runs in just 2 2/3 innings in his last start a week ago against Tommasin Padova.

Former Seattle Mariners prospect Jose Escalona worked a pair of relief frames, while bullpen mates Luca Di Faffaele and Daniele Del Bianco worked one inning apiece.

Venezuelan infielder Freddy Noguera stroked four hits to raise his batting mark to .500 (6-for-12), and Nicola Garbella scored twice and collected three hits.

The Pirates (4-4) opened the series on Friday with a 5-3 victory over the previously unbeaten Titans (6-2). Juan Carlos Infante homered and Jose Rosario (0-0) picked up the win despite issuing three walks and a pair of scores over 2 1/3 frames.

UnipolSai Bologna wallops Parma Clima
Bologna pounded Parma Clima, 11-0, on Saturday in a lopsided affair at Gianni Falchi Stadium in Bologna. Alessandro Vaglio and Alessandro Grimaudo combined for five hits and seven RBIs. American Rudy Owens (4-0) tossed another gem while surrendering five hits and striking out six in five innings of work.


Curacao Neptunus Silences HCAW
The defending Dutch Hoofdklasse champion Curacao Neptunus (6-3) took the first two games in a three-game set against HCAW (8-4). Diegomar Markwell (2-1) pitched a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and Benjamin Dille tallied four hits in a 9-0 victory on Friday night. Neptunus (6-4) blanked HCAW (7-5) on Saturday, 2-0. Elton Koeiman (3-0) allowed six hits and struck out five in 7 2/3 frames. However, HCAW avoided the sweep with a 3-1 win on Sunday in the series finale behind a strong outing from starter Ian Delemarre (1-0).

L&D Amsterdam Pirates Steamroll Past De Glaskoning Twins
Amsterdam (8-1) rolled to a trio of easy wins against De Glaskoning Twins (0-12). Kenny Berkenbosch (.346) ripped a pair of doubles and Rob Cordemans (2-0) threw one-run ball over six frames to help the Pirates claim an 8-1 win in the series opener. Amsterdam rolled to a 11-1 victory on Saturday with an eight-run second inning highlighted by Linoy Croes’ (.241) three-run triple, and finished off the sweep with a 9-1 decision as Gilmer Lampe (.517) continued to swing a red-hot bat with a three-run dinger.


Mainz Athletics Sweep Regensburg Legionaere
The reigning German Baseball-Bundesliga champion Mainz Athletics (8-4) extended its winning streak to four games with a pair of wins over the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg (6-6) this past weekend. The A’s trail South Division-leading Heidenheim Heidekoepfe (10-0) by three games. Mainz captured a 6-4 victory on Friday as Peter Johannessen (.340) tagged Niklas Rimmel with a game-changing, two-run homer. Tim Stahlmann (4-0) fanned 11 in a complete-game effort to nab the win. The hosts finished off the sweep on Saturday with a 7-2 victory as Riley Barr (3-2) pitched eight effective innings to earn the decision.

Paderborn Untouchables Clip Cologne Cardinals
The Untouchables (5-3) scored twice in the 10th to capture a 2-0 win and a doubleheader sweep over the Cologne Cardinals (1-7) this past Sunday. Benjamin Thaqi (2-1) tossed 2 1/3 relief frames to earn the win. Paderborn blew out the Cardinals in the first game, 16-1, as Dominik Buder (.308) tallied four RBIs and Matt Kemp (1-0) won for the first time in three starts.


Arrows Ostrava Sweeps Eagles Prague
The Arrows (10-3) continued their winning ways with a pair of wins over Eagles Prague (6-8). Devon Ramirez (.340) went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in a 5-0 win last Friday night. Ondrej Satoria (4-2) scattered three hits over eight strong frames to notvh the win. Ostrava completed the sweep the following day, 5-2, as Cameron Russ (.463) tallied three hits and Joe Goodman (4-0) tossed 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball.

Draci Brno Stops Cardion Hrosi Brno
The Dragons (13-1) march towards another Czech Extraleague title rolled into Hrosi on Saturday as the league favorite claimed a 6-1 victory against Cardion Hrosi (8-4). Martin Schneider (.405) connected for his first long ball of the season and Radim Chroust (2-0) worked 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win.


Sant Boi Pounds Pamplona To Claim Top Spot
Sant Boi (10-2) disposed of Pamplona (4-9) twice to move into sole possession of first place in the Spanish Division De Honor. Anthony Vizcaya (6-0) struck out 12 in a dominant seven-inning stint to lead the home team to a 6-0 win. Sant Boi finished off the sweep with a 13-3 victory as Eric Izquierdo (2-0) nabbed the win while Kerson Trinidad earned his first save of the season.

San Inazio Bilbao Bizkaia Stuns Tenerife Marlins
Leopoldo Correa (.387) and Kreisber Auciello (.263) both went deep to help San Inazio (4-7) capture an 8-3 win Saturday over the Tenerife Marlins (11-3) to salvage a twinbill split. The Marlins took the first game, 9-0, as Richard Montiel (.341) tallied three RBIs and Yorfrank Lopez (5-1) combined with reliever Miguel Bastidas on a five-hit shutout.
