ITALY – The unbeaten T&A San Marino Titans will look to continue their winning ways tonight against the Rimini Pirates in a marquee Italian Baseball League showdown. The Titans claimed a pair of 3-1 wins against the Pirates two weeks ago.

San Marino (6-0) boasts the league’s second-ranked offense and pitching units. Shortstop Erik Epifano (.563) leads the batting race, while starters Carlos Quevedo (2-0) and Frailyn Florian (1-0) combine with relievers Junior Oberto (1-0) and Tommaso Cherubini (1-0) to form a solid 1-2 punch on the hill.

Rimini (2-4) opened the season with two stunning losses to Novara and occupied the cellar in Group B before capturing a pair slim victories aagainst Tommasin Padova last weekend. Nicola Garbella (.400) is the top hitter and Ricardo Hernandez (2.45 ERA) has been the best pitcher.

Reigning Dutch champion Curacao Neptunus (4-2) will test league frontrunner HCAW (7-2) in a key three-game Dutch Hoofdklasse series this weekend. Benjamin Dille is batting .565 (13-for-23) for Neptunus, while Vince Rooi paces HCAW with a .441 (15-for-34) batting mark.

HCAW’s starting pitchers Jim Ploeger (3-0) and Kaj Timmermans (2-0) will be tested by a Neptunus lineup that is batting a league-best .338 and features a slew of talented sluggers in Dille, Dwayne Kemp (.400), Gianison Boekhoudt (.400), Daniel Fernandes (.368) and Christian Diaz (.304).

In Switzerland, the unbeaten Zurich Challengers (2-0) will square off against the Sissach Frogs (3-1) in the best matchup on the NLA slate. The Challengers swept the Luzern Eagles to open the season with Tobias Siegrist (1-0) and Sandy Patrone (1-0) both pitching complete game wins.

The Frogs split two games against the Bern Cardinals to start the 2017 campaign before sweeping the Wil Devils last weekend. Taylor Eichhorst (.615) and Carlos Brito (.556) are the top hitters for Sissach.
